Safety tips

Vivadoo puts buyers and sellers in direct contact — these simple habits keep that meeting safe, whether you're buying a phone or an apartment.

Meeting the other party

  • Meet in a busy public place during the day — a café, a mall, a fuel station. For high-value items, bring a friend.
  • Never invite a stranger to your home for a first meeting, and never go alone to an isolated address.
  • Inspect the item in person before any money changes hands. Photos can be old, edited, or someone else's.
  • Agree on the price before you travel. A price that suddenly changes at the meeting is a bad sign.

Paying safely

  • Pay when you collect — hand over money and item at the same moment.
  • Never send a deposit, an advance or a "reservation fee" to someone you haven't met. This is the single most common scam.
  • Vivadoo has no payment, escrow or delivery service. Anyone claiming to collect money "through Vivadoo" or offering "Vivadoo delivery" is a fraudster — report the ad immediately.
  • Be wary of overpayment tricks: a "buyer" who sends too much and asks for the difference back is running a scam.

Vehicles and property

  • For a car, check the registration papers against the seller's ID, and inspect the chassis number. A mechanic's inspection before payment is money well spent.
  • For property, verify the title deed and deal with the registered owner or a mandated agent — insist on seeing the mandate.
  • Test drive with the owner present, and never hand your own car keys to a "buyer" for a solo test drive.

Spotting a scam online

  • If the price looks too good to be true, it is. Compare with similar ads before you get excited.
  • Never share banking codes, card numbers or one-time passwords. No legitimate buyer or seller needs them.
  • Be careful with sellers who refuse calls and push you to chat apps or foreign numbers.
  • Every ad has a Report button — use it. Reporting a suspicious ad protects the next person.
